Pecel & its companion

My today’s post is about Pecel & its companion. Pecel is a common Indonesian food which is very easily be found almost in Java Island, especially East Java region where the food is originated. It is an Indonesian sauce based on chillies, peanuts, tamarind and coconut sugar/palm sugar. It is commonly served over boiled vegetables which is also companied with other dishes such as fried chicken, fried tempeh & tofu, corn fritters, fried shredded beef and many more. If you want to know more about pecel click here.

Here I used some vegetables such as water-spinach, bean-sprout and long beans. Another companion are daikon soup & baked chicken. I decorate with flower-cut carrot  on top of boiled  vegetables to have pretty-look.

#19 Go to School Bento

This bento is made to participate the back to school giveaway event held by bento club. I used ham, cheese, crab-stick, wakame, carrot and roasted black sesame seed as decoration. The inside box consisting of rice, steamed broccoli, cherry tomatoes, fried minced chicken roll, tamagoyaki, stir-fried lady fingers and fried mini wonton.Chilli sauce is put separately inside the small sauce cup. However, since there are many of the participants enter the giveaway and their creations are also more beautiful  compared to mine thus I did not win it. Of course, I felt  gloomy as I couldn't obtain the giveaway  but on the other side I was happy to join this event & get new experience.

Hello Kitty Pudding (Part 2)

Hi Everyone,

I made Hello Kitty pudding using mini silicone mold. This is actually my 3rd attempt to make the same Hello Kitty theme. The 1st attempt I didn't post it here as the Hello Kitty face expression was not well-done. I used Mango flavour konnyaku jelly powder. The 2nd attempt I used agar-agar powder adding chocolate milk & fresh milk &  you can find it here, http://fangfoodgalore.blogspot.com/2011/06/mini-hello-kitty-pudding.html.

For my 3rd attempt I made a little decoration on the Hello Kitty's eye & nose using Wilton food colouring so that it looks more vibrant.
